Our story of hope and healing
Welcome to Unicorn Ranch Rescue, a women-owned sanctuary nestled on six peaceful acres in North County San Diego, California. For over two decades, our hearts have been dedicated to rescuing, rehabilitating, and cherishing all species of animals in need. We are a soft landing and a lifelong second chance for an isle of misfit creatures.

Building a safe haven for all species
Officially operating as a sanctuary since 2018, Unicorn Ranch Rescue grew out of a lifelong devotion to animal welfare. Our sprawling ranch provides refuge from natural disasters, emergency shelter, and intensive rehabilitation. From tiny mice to majestic horses, we open our gates to everyone: goats, pigs, chickens, ducks, turkeys, geese, guinea pigs, rabbits, tortoises, turtles, cats, dogs, a llama, and even a resident peacock.

Tender care for complex medical cases
Many of our residents arrive needing extreme rehabilitation, from wound care and parasite treatments to dental procedures and bottle-feeding orphaned babies. Take Queen Elizabeth Taylor, a senior Siamese cat rescued after ingesting poisoned food. Thanks to dedicated around-the-clock care, she made a miraculous full recovery and is thriving today. We never give up on worst-case scenarios.

Connecting hearts through compassionate education
We believe deeply in the restorative power of the human-animal bond. Through our guided one-hour tours, community members can meet, groom, and engage with our friendly residents while learning about ethical animal stewardship. Whether you choose to adopt, volunteer, donate feed, or visit our ranch, you become an essential part of our growing sanctuary family.
"Visiting Unicorn Ranch Rescue completely touched our hearts. Meeting all the wonderful rescued animals and seeing the gentle, individualized care they receive is truly inspiring."
