Frequently asked questions

Everything you need to know about adopting from our 6-acre rescue ranch. From our meet-and-greet requirements to specific species guidelines, we ensure every animal enters a safe, happy environment.

What are the steps to adopting an animal?

The process starts by meeting the animal to ensure you and your family are a great fit. Next, you will provide photos of the habitat or living environment where the animal will stay. Afterwards, you will complete our adoption application form, pay the adoption fee, receive any relevant health or veterinary records, and bring your new companion home. The entire process typically takes from a couple of days to about a week.

How do I submit an adoption application?

You can begin by completing our official online adoption form at our Google application form. You are also welcome to reach out to us directly via email at [[email]] if you have any questions before applying.

What are the adoption fees?

Adoption fees vary by species to help cover rescue and medical care: cats are $150 to $200, poultry are $45 to $85, male goats are $175, female goats are $225, and pigs are $50. Fees for other species are discussed during the application review.

What are the requirements for farm animals?

All farm animals require adequate outdoor space and secure shelter appropriate for their species, and adopters must display knowledge of species-appropriate care. Poultry must have safe, predator-proof coops. Ducks must have guaranteed daily access to a clean pool of fresh water.

What are the specific requirements for cat adoptions?

Cats must strictly remain indoors and are not permitted outdoors under any circumstances. Additionally, for the safety and comfort of our rescues, cats will not be rehomed to households with poorly behaved children.

Can I visit the rescue before applying?

Yes! We offer paid, one-hour guided facility tours where you can meet, pet, and view our wonderful residents—including horses, goats, pigs, chickens, ducks, guinea pigs, rabbits, tortoises, cats, dogs, our llama, and our peacock.
